Paintings
Abstract paintings in oil or acrylic paint, sometimes mixed media. I often work in several layers on top of each other and generally use a lot of color.

Isurus
2020This work has something mysterious. This is partly due to the soft, subtle turquoise, beige and light blue, and to the refined way in which these pastel colors blend into each other like in a dreamlike mist. Sometimes, however, these different shades also form very strong contrasts, for instance in the pronounced dark purple at the top. The mystery of this work is enhanced by the strange shapes that are attached to it. They are reminiscent of gills, which is why the work is called 'Isurus' (shark).
Connection
2020This work evokes a very warm feeling because of the soft, subtle colors (such as pink, gray, ochre and burnt sienna) that are all connected to each other. Hence also the title 'Connection'. The different color nuances regularly blend into each other in a subtle way, but sometimes they also form strong contrasts. For example in the bright, almost neon-like pink. The brushstrokes are painted very dynamically, making the painting calm on the one hand, but at the same time lively on the other hand.
Cool Splash
2020This painting gives a fresh touch to your interior. It gives thanks to the different shades of blue a very bright look to your interior. The brushstrokes are painted dynamically, giving the work a lively look.
Love vs. Hate
2020This painting evokes a feeling of action, movement and a lot of dynamics. At first glance there are especially bright color contrasts, between the black, red, green and beige, but at second glance there are also many subtle color nuances. A painting you can look at for a long time.
Dreams
2020This small painting is painted with fast strokes of paint, which makes it very dynamic. Because of the different shades of green, the scene could take place in a wooded environment. But it also has something of a dream, an illusion.
Magnetic
2020Painting 'Magnetic' is painted in many layers on top of each other, which makes it look as if you can look into the depths. Because of the warm colors it will give a warm color accent to your home.
Untethered
2020This work is a real eye-catcher in every room. Partly because of the intense colors (including red and gold) and the different layers, the work has an almost mystical look.
Behind the sea
2013The lower part of this work is the most striking. There, the oil paint with firm strokes of the palette knife thickly applied in subtle blue, turquoise and soft brown shades. There is a lot of texture and movement. As your eye is directed upwards, the painting becomes calmer and more monochrome in color. There the paint is much more transparent and thinner. The colors are more even. The whole has a very calm look, almost something meditative.
Passion
2020This painting is a real eye-catcher in every room, but in a soft, empathic way. The work is expressively painted with quick brushstrokes in various pink and pastel shades. The construction in various layers suggests another dimension behind the painting.
Blue Lake
2014This painting, made in acrylic paint and mixed technique, has a very quiet, calm appearance. The cool turquoise-like tones have something refreshing, while the orange-brown tones are more earthy. It creates the association with a sunny vacation on a tropical island. Its small size makes it suitable for smaller spaces, such as a niche, a shelf or a narrower piece of wall.
Centerpiece
2013This painting is a real eye-catcher in every room, but in a very soft, empathic way. The work is expressive, painted with quick brushstrokes and in various shades, including a lot of pink. The construction in several layers gives a feeling of depth and the lived skin suggests that the work has led a whole life.
Óxido
2017This is a very mysterious work that is only suitable for connoisseurs. It has a dark, lived through look. The special use of color is reminiscent of the greenish shades of weathered bronze.
La primavera
2013At first glance this work seems to consist of only a few shades, but if you look longer, you can see that there are many subtle shades in white, gray, ochre and olive green. The work is built up of many layers on top of each other, which gives it a lot of texture. The concentrated colors on the right side of the canvas suggest that they form a kind of portal to another dimension. The work evokes the suggestion of all sorts of things sprouting, new life, hence the term Primavera, which is Italian for 'spring'.
Éminence grise
2017The work 'Éminence grise' consists of many layers of oil paint on top of each other, which gives it a lot of texture. It looks a bit like a landscape where all kinds of traces of former inhabitants seem to be visible. Like an archaeological map. At first glance this work seems to consist of nothing but gray, but if you look longer, you can see that there are many subtle shades of color: white, ochre, dark gray. It is a work you can look at for a very long time.
Celestopia
2014The different shades of gray radiate something melancholic, but the white and yellow tones on the other hand feel sunny and warm. The upward movement and the thick brushstrokes suggest wings fluttering upward. Because of this association with angel wings this narrow but special painting is called 'Celestopia', for 'Ciel' means 'heaven'.
